Recording sessions for the album took place at Columbia's 30th Street Studio in New York City on March 2 and April 22, 1959. The sessions featured Davis's ensemble sextet, which consisted of pianists Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly, drummer Jimmy Cobb, bassist Paul Chambers, and saxophonists John Coltrane and Julian “Cannonball” Adderley. After the inclusion of Bill Evans into his sextet, Davis followed up on the modal experimentations of Milestones (1958) and 1958 Miles (1958) by basing the album entirely on modality, in contrast to his earlier work with the hard bop style of jazz.

A famous poem about the love of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon Him) recited by Muslims throughout the world, is the famous Qasida Burda or Poem of the Cloak, written by an Egyptian Sufi scholar, Imam Sharaf ad-Din al-Busiri (may the mercy of Allah be upon him)
The poem was composed around 1260-1268 C.E. and praises the Prophet in the very most beautiful way. Numerous are the benefits of this poem as have been witnessed and experienced by many pious believers since it was composed by the noble Imam Busiri (may themercy of Allah be upon him). The Imam himself had recovered from paralysis, through the blessings of the poem.
The writer Hazrat Imaam Shara-fud-deen Al Busairi (may Allah be pleased with him) had become paralysed.His doctors and physicians gave up all hope of his recovery. Eventually in this state of complete helplessness and despair, he composed this poem expressing the grandeur and excellence of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon Him), using this as his sole means of asking Allah Ta'aala to cure him from his illness.
He isolated himself in a quiet place one Thursday night and with complete devotion, concentration and sincerity began reciting this poem. While reciting it sleep overcame him. He had a vision of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon Him) in which he told the Holy Prophet his illness whereupon the Prophet (peace be upon Him) passed his blessed hand over Imaam Busairis body. Through the barakat and blessing of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon Him), Allah Ta'aala granted him complete cure from his paralysis.
When he awoke he found a scarf or shawl on his body which he had seen placed on his paralyzed limbs by the Holy Prophet (peace be upon Him), This resulted in the poem being named Qasidah Burdah (The Poem of the Cloak).
If you read the Qasida Burda you will find verses that praise the Prophet
verses that send greetings, and others that send blessings on the Prophet.

", "leaf": false } ], "text": "Aala Hazrat", "info": "Ahmed Raza Khan Fazil-e-Barelvi (18561921 CE) was much more than just a great poet, he was a Sunni Islamic scholar and sufi, whose works influenced the Barelvi movement of South Asia.[2] Raza Khan wrote on numerous topics, including law, religion, philosophy and the sciences. He was a prolific writer, producing nearly 1,000 works in his lifetime.
Ala Hazrat as he is affectionately referred to by people of the subcontinent is best described as a multi-dimensional genius whose real contribution to humanity and Islam is only now being fully understood by scholars, political figures, scientists and leaders around the world.
As a Student
A'lahazrat learnt Islamic studies by leaps and bounds. When he was four, he completed the Nazra (oral recitation) of the Holy Qur'an. At five, he delivered his first speech, at twelve, he wrote his first book in Arabic, a commentary of Hidayat-un-Nahav . At the age of thirteen, on 19th November 1869, Dastr (accomplishment of Islamic studies) was conferred on him. On this very day, he wrote a Fatwa on the issue of foster-brotherhood and presented it to his respected father, Hazrat Naqi Ali Khan, who found it absolutely correct. Looking to the talent of his son, Hazrat Naqi Ali Khan authorized him to work as a Mufti (one who issues Islamic verdicts) since then. Thus, at 13, A'lahazrat became full-fledged Mufti. Much to our surprise, A'lahazrat achieved so much within such a short period. Yet, what is most surprising is that he became a Mufti while he was teenager. It is a fact that savants of vast experience and high calibre only are authorized to work as a Mufti.
A'lahazrat learnt a few books of Urdu and Persian from Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Qadir Beg. He also learnt a little from Hazrat Mawlana Abdul Ali of Rampur (d. 1885). A'lahazrat learnt 21 subjects from his respected father, Hazrat Naqi Ali Khan (d. 1880). Besides, he was also taught by his Shaykh, His holiness Shah Al-i-Rasl of Marehrah Sharif (d. 1879) and H.H. Shah Abul Hasan Nri of Marehrah Sharif (d. 1906).Thus, this talented student who later on proved himself at home in so many subjects, learnt most of the subjects at home.
As a Mufti
A mufti is one who issues Fatwas or Islamic verdicts. He is supposed to be a doctor of Islamic jurisprudence. Of course, he is a savant of savants, who works with greater sagacity, understanding and responsibility. A'lahazrat was a mufti of international repute. Questions for fatwa from every corner of the world were received by A'lahazrat, who replied them explicitly with ample references and quotations from Holy Qur'an, Hadith and other authentic books of religion and science. Most complicated and insoluble questions were sent to A'lahazrat and he solved them in no time. In this field, A'lahazrat has written a number of books and booklets on a number of issues. But his masterpiece is Fataw-i-Rizawiyya which runs in 12 volumes and each volume is spread over 1000 pages. It can thus be called is a book of books. It is a dictionary of Fatwas and an encyclopedia of Muslim jurisprudence.
Dr Hasan Riza Khan presented his thesis on The place of A'lahazrat in Islamic jurisprudence , which was accepted by Patna University, India and a degree of doctorate was conferred on Dr. Hasan Riza Khan. Conceding the intellect of A'lahazrat in Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Justice D. F. Mulla, a Parsi Judge of Bombay High Court observed that in India and Pakistan, two great books were written on Fiqh one Fataw-i-Alamgiri and the other Fataw-i-Rizawiyya . An uncommon feature of Fataw-i-Rizawiyya is that it is hailed by among friends and foes alike. Many erudite present day schoalrs of Islam have agrred that it is difficult to become a mufti. But it is easier for a mufti to remove his difficulties through Fataw-i-Rizawiyya.

The seed of Ishq-e-Rasool in the hearts of millions he did sow
As we nurture this seed, and follow his teachings
The love of Allah and his beloved blossoms and continues to grow
The shining sun of the Sunnis, a splendid role model for all
In Safar 1340 his gifted life came to an end
An honourable Teacher, Author, Mufti and Mujadidd
But above all a great saint as with Allah he did befriend
The king of Barielly, a great legend of his time

His father, Moulana Ahmed Raza Khan (1856 - 1921) (radi Allahu anhu), and grandfather, Moulana Naqi Ali Khan (d. 1880) (radi Allahu anhu), were recognised as great scholars of Islam in Islamic academic circles all over the world.
Educational Background: He was born into a scholarly atmosphere. His family was reputed for its services in Islamic Traditional Sciences. His father especially, a Mujaddid of the 14th century A.H., is profoundly respected in the Muslim world for his struggle in social, political, educational and spiritual fields for the resurgence of Deen. Moulana Mustapha Raza Khan (radi Allahu anhu) completed his religious education under the guidance of his learned father as well as other great Ulema.
Academic Status: Moulana Mustapha Raza Khan (radi Allahu anhu) was well versed in more than twenty branches of oriental learning, including Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, Sarf, Nahv, Tajweed, Balghat, Tassawuf, Mantiq, Seerah, Tareekh, Kalam, Aqa id, Reyazvi, Touqeet, Jafar and Hayat.
Sufism (Bai ah): He was a Shaikh of the Qadriya order. His own spiritual guide, Shaik Shah Abul Hussain Noori (1839-1906) (radi Allahu anhu), of Mahrehra Shareef (India) was a great Sufi and spiritual guide. It is estimated that nearly ten million Muslims received spiritual guidance from Huzoor Mufti-e-Azam Hind (radi Allahu anhu).
Pilgrimage (Visit to Haramain Sharifain): He visited Haramain three times. During his two pilgrimages in 1905 and 1945, photographs were not introduced for the Haj journey. But on his last visit in 1971, although visa and passport photographs were introduced, he was given special permission to travel to Saudi Arabia without providing his photograph for passport or visa by the governments of India and Saudi Arabia. This event showed the strict adherence of Huzoor Mufti-e-Azam Hind (radi Allahu anhu) to the Shariah.
A Great Mufti and Faqih: He started issuing Fatawa while he was only a boy of 13 years old. His first Fatawa was on Raza ah . At the age of 13 he became a recognised Mufti and it is estimated that he issued more than 50 000 Fatawas during his lifetime. All the contemporary Ulema and Fuqaha respected his opinion on current issues and accepted his Fatawa as the most reliable religious verdict in the sub-continent. Collections of his Fatawa have been published in Urdu in two volumes under the title Fatawa Mustafawiya .
As a Teacher: He started teaching in Jamia Manzare Islam, Bareilly in 1910. He served in this prominent institution for a period of about 27 years. He was a proficient scholar of Hadith and Fiqh. Several famous Islamic teachers of the sub-continent who were his pupils went on later to teach in the prominent Darul Ulooms of India and Pakistan. Some of them are: Moulana Sardar Ahmed Razvi, Moulana Ejaz Wali Khan, Moulana Hashmat Ali Khan and Moulana Mufti Shareef-ul-Haq.
Hundreds of his students are serving all over the sub-continent and other parts of the world as Heads of Religious Institutions and Muslim organisations.
As an Author: In spite of his round the year journeys all over India, and his deep commitment to his Central Darul Ifta, he wrote many books and commentaries on some of the books of Fatawa and Fiqh. It is estimated that he has left about 40 books on a variety of subjects and important issues. He followed the methodology of his great father in his writings. His style was straight and clear. He was very bold and strong while expressing his views and presenting his ideas. His books mainly consists of refutations against the invalid views and heretical ideas of deviant sects and groups of the Ummah. He mainly targeted Wahabi institutions in the sub-continent.
Demise: He passed away on the eve of the 14th of Muharram 1402 A.H. in Bareilly Shareef. It was estimated that over two and a half million Muslims from all over the world attended his funeral prayer. He is buried in Bareilly Shareef beside his father, A la Hazrat, Imam Ahmed Raza Khan (radi Allahu anhu). His Urs Shareef is held every year in Bareilly Shareef and in various other countries around the globe. He left behind six daughters and one son. His son, Hazrat Anwar Raza (radi Allahu anhu), passed away during childhood.

As there is a growing popularity of smartphones and mobile apps, and there is much demand for Naat lyrics on the web, we decided to develop the 'Naat Lyrics App' which contains a good collection of over 100 Urdu to English transliterated Naats.
We hope that not only this app will inspire you to read Naats, but also learn and have a better understanding of them too.

Kind of Blue is a studio album by American jazz musician Miles Davis, released August 17, 1959, on Columbia Records in the United States. Recording sessions for the album took place at Columbia's 30th Street Studio in New York City on March 2 and April 22, 1959. The sessions featured Davis's ensemble sextet, which consisted of pianists Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly, drummer Jimmy Cobb, bassist Paul Chambers, and saxophonists John Coltrane and Julian “Cannonball” Adderley. After the inclusion of Bill Evans into his sextet, Davis followed up on the modal experimentations of Milestones (1958) and 1958 Miles (1958) by basing the album entirely on modality, in contrast to his earlier work with the hard bop style of jazz.
